Client Surveying Manager

We are seeking a Client Surveying Manager to join City of Westminster's dynamic property team. This role is crucial for managing a team of surveyors and overseeing the briefing process for new projects delivered via Term Partnering Contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surveying or project management within a building consultancy, Housing Association or similar environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support the Senior Client Programme Manager in defining the 5-year investment programme and individual project scopes.
- Manage the Client Surveying team, ensuring high levels of technical detail and independent audit trails for informed decision-making.
- Lead the process for compiling key technical information and manage all technical issues related to the planning of general building refurbishment projects.
- Engage with and influence a range of stakeholders, including senior officers across Housing, Planning, and Real Estate sectors.
- Ensure projects are managed through RIBA Stages 0 (Strategic Definition) and 1-2 (Preparation & Brief) and oversee the review of ‘lessons learnt’ from completed projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a local government setting, Housing Association or a building consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of construction technology and building pathology.
- Experience in managing multi-million pound annual programmes of planned maintenance.
- Thorough understanding of the implications of the Landlord and Tenant Act.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Preferably a degree in building surveying, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Chartered status of RICS, CIOB, CIBSE, or similar is advantageous.
