Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority client based in London to facilitate the appointment of an Interim Disrepair Surveyor on an interim basis for 3 months.
The council is experiencing an increase in disrepair claims and requires additional expertise to assess property conditions, prepare technical reports, and support legal proceedings. This role is crucial in ensuring properties meet compliance standards and improving housing conditions for residents.
Responsibilities of the Role:- Inspection reports: findings, causation, remedials, conclusions, and photos-SORs to be utilized.
- Drafting of Scott's Schedules.
- Focus on case management and closure.
- Strong knowledge of legal disrepair protocols, including the Landlord and Tenant Act (Section 11), Section 9A, and the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act.
- Post-inspection tracker updates and completion.
- Responses to MP inquiries, Councillor complaints, and Ombudsman cases.

Proven experience as a Disrepair Surveyor within a Local Authority or Housing Association.

Strong understanding of housing legislation and building pathology.

Ability to manage legal disputes and liaise with solicitors.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) desirable.
This assignment is a 3-month contract with a likely extension and offers £300-£320 per day (Inside IR35), depending on experience. There will be a mixture of remote working, with a requirement to be onsite 2-3 days per week.
