About the Role:

A skilled Technical Surveyor is required to join a local authority's Housing Services team. This vital role supports the preparation of investment tasks and task orders within the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) investment programme. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the Technical Surveyor will ensure that all pre-construction activities meet high technical standards, deliver value for money, and comply with the Partnering Agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and challenge client briefs to ensure alignment with investment needs and minimise inefficiencies.
  • Act as the technical lead for pre-construction activities, appraising proposed solutions from service providers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop accurate budgets, designs, and technical appraisals.
  • Review planning, building control, and listed building consent applications to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical input into design standards and innovative solutions.
  • Monitor and report on task progress, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Ensure seamless handovers to operational teams for task delivery.
