Job Title:Void Surveyor

Location:Lambeth

Hours per Week:35 hours

Rate of Pay:£200 / day (Umbrella)

We are currently recruiting for a Void Surveyor to join the Resident Services team at Lambeth Council.

Main Duties:

  • Oversee maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs for council-owned properties, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
  • Diagnose complex repair issues, create detailed specifications for repairs, and collaborate with contractors to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Consult with residents, address complaints, and ensure safeguarding principles are followed during property visits.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to legal, safety, and council policies, conducting post-inspections and reporting on contractor performance and project outcomes.

The Candidate Will Have:

  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance, repair diagnostics, and creating precise technical specifications, particularly for complex and structural issues.
  • Experience liaising with residents, contractors, and cross-functional teams, with the ability to resolve issues and deliver projects effectively.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g., Health & Safety, Data Protection, Equalities) and the ability to uphold council policies, including safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
