Your new roleThe firm is committed to integrating sustainability into every aspect of its business. They believe in aligning their activities, mission, and values with their environmental, social, and wider sustainability objectives. They are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Sustainability Manager to join the team and lead the sustainability initiatives at a strategic level.Strategic Decision-Making: Collaborate with senior executives, the management board, and the non-executive team to align the organisation's activities with its sustainability objectives.Employee Engagement: Maintain regular contact with employees at all levels to ensure the sustainability strategy is understood and effectively integrated into working practices.External Communication: Engage with external stakeholders, attend presentations, oversee the preparation of the organisation's sustainability report, lead community-based initiatives, coordinate with external consultants on decarbonisation and environmental management systems, and promote sustainability across the supply chain.Policy Design and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of sustainability policies, including the phased rollout of a global environmental management system and best practices on sustainability-related issues.Sustainability Reporting: Communicate the organisation's sustainability strategy and report on progress internally and externally, including annual Ecovadis and CDP submissions.Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to senior executives and management to identify risks and opportunities presented by current and future sustainability trends.Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.Championing Sustainability: Work with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and encourage continuous improvement, with a particular focus on Scope 3 emissions.Promoting Sustainable Products: Identify opportunities to promote sustainable products and services.What you'll need to succeedProven experience in a senior sustainability role, preferably within a large organisation.Strong understanding of sustainability principles, environmental management systems, and decarbonisation strategies.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to work at both strategic and operational levels.Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.What you'll get in returnFlexible working options available.Excellent benefitsAnnual bonus25 days annual leaveWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career.
