Butler Rose is working with one of the largest housing associations in London and the south-east in their search for Income Collection Officer to join their friendly Finance team. This is a contract role up until 2nd March 2025 in London and will pay £17.59 PAYE an hour to the successful candidate. Office based and minimum 3 days in the office. Working in the Business Development team, reporting to the Income and Collection manager, as an Income Collection Officer, you will play an important role in overseeing and supporting with rent collection. You will work closely with your colleagues in Operations to maximise income, identifying trends and patterns and ensuring compliance with income collection processes. Responsibilities: * Build and strengthen relationships internally to support tenancy sustainment. * Provide expertise in income collection to support residents. * Provide oversight & analysis on income collection to support the delivery of KPI's. * Maximise efficiency and compliance with processes to assist residents. * Strengthen & build relationships with local authorities and other partners to maximise income collection and reduce arrears. * Ensure a consist approach across the business to income collection, providing excellent services for all residents. * Be passionate and committed to placing our residents at the heart of income collection and find solutions wherever possible. * Collaborate to resolve difficult and complex cases and support colleagues and managers to find solutions. * Provide oversight of income collection and arrears performance for the management team, identifying areas of concern and sharing best practice. * Build strong relationships with external partners to understand and access funding available to support tenancy sustainment. * Complete detailed analysis and identify trends, collaborating with the business to understand risks and issues. * Develop and deliver training and programmes for all staff to ensure best practice is applied at all times. * Be the lead for internal partnership relationship management, ensuring services meet the needs of residents and the business. * Provide an audit function, ensuring compliance with processes. Requirements: * Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. * Tenacity, resilience, and problem-solving skills. * A customer-focused mindset & passion for tenancy sustainment. * Effective team collaboration skills. * Examples of forging strong relationships, internally and externally. * Excellent investigative, influencing, and negotiating skills. * Demonstrate accuracy, and a systematic and thorough approach to record keeping, document control and filing. * Experience of data and trend analysis. * Proficiency in the full Office 365 suite of software, including advanced Excel skills (Formulas, Power Pivot, Power Query). * In depth knowledge and experience of rent collection process and procedure. * Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate attention to detail. * Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence.
