RM Recruit Ltd is working in partnership with our Lambeth based Housing client to recruit an Interim Income Officer for a period of three months with a view to extend. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a forward thinking organisation and add value to the team.

Main duties include:

  • Ensure the maximisation of income for both current and former tenants by working supportively and proactively with the aim of sustaining tenancies.
  • Provide an excellent customer focused service for residents ensuring that they are aware of their responsibility to pay rent on time and regularly and to advise on preventative action to be taken to stop them falling into arrears.
  • Monitor cases and perform financial inclusion activities including the identification of potential arrears and early intervention by managing and maintaining risk registers.
  • Conducting personal contact, providing adhoc housing benefit and other financial advice where necessary, including those cases with unique or complex needs
  • Ensure that services are delivered in accordance with annually agreed performance targets
  • Lead on rent collection on a patch and other cases assigned by the Income Team Leader
  • Responsible for the collection of rental income and other housing related debts
  • Provide advice and assistance to all tenants who have rent arrears
  • Ensure the computer system is updated with details of individual rent arrears actions and advise on the improvement of such systems on a regular basis
  • Keep full and detailed records of all actions taken and all contact with residents

This role is working in the office four days per week with one day working from home. Infrequently, there may be visits to the other office which is in close proximity of the main headquarters where you will be based. Due to urgent need of the organisation, you will be available immediately with a view to start as soon as possible.
