Enforcement Agent (Remote)

Location: Sheffield, Nottingham, Newcastle, Manchester, London, Leicester, Bristol, Brimingham and Bath.

An Enforcement Agent is responsible for recovering debts, serving legal notices, and enforcing court orders on behalf of clients or government agencies. This role requires a combination of professionalism, negotiation skills, and the ability to handle challenging situations with integrity and empathy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit residential and commercial premises to recover outstanding debts or seize goods as per court orders.
  • Serve legal notices, summons, or warrants in line with regulations.
  • Negotiate repayment plans with debtors and secure payment within agreed terms.
  • Act as a representative of the client, ensuring their interests are upheld professionally.
  • Provide clear updates to clients on enforcement progress and outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection laws.
  • Operate within the framework of relevant laws, such as the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act (TCEA) and associated codes of practice.
  • Ensure all actions are compliant with local and national regulations, including proper documentation and reporting.
  • Attend training to stay updated on legal changes and enforcement best practices.
  • Accurately record all interactions, payments, and enforcement activities in company systems.
  • Provide regular reports to the Enforcement Manager and escalate complex cases as needed.
  • Manage paperwork associated with cases, including receipts, notices, and inventory of seized goods.
  • Handle disputes and confrontations calmly and professionally.
  • Use negotiation and interpersonal skills to de-escalate tense situations.
  • Ensure safety during enforcement activities by assessing risks and employing conflict management techniques.
