Your new company

Having been in the game for a good few decades, this contractor works across a range of disciplines, from highway and bridge construction to street lighting design. They have an increasing interest in public realm projects and have recently have worked closely with a number of Local Authority customers to manage a programme of improvement schemes across various boroughs. They are proud to have delivered public realm schemes that enhance the street scene and visual appearance of the local communities they work within, helping to improve the area for local residents, pedestrians, cyclists and businesses.

Your new role

As the Graduate Engineer your will assist  with technical, organisation and supervisory input across various projects.

Your day to day will comprise of:

  • Understanding of setting out and as-built surveys for installation
  • Reviewing installation drawings and providing instruction to site erection team
  • Quality assurance management
  • Producing and checking Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Construction Phase Plans
  • Producing works programmes and liaising with contractors to ensure programme dates are met
  • Liaising and facilitating relationships with designers, contractors, stakeholders and client
  • Advising designers on buildability of designs
  • Managing all permits and approvals for the project
  • Assisting in resolving site/construction issues
  • Arranging and chairing progress meetings with contractors
  • Ensuring workforce adhere to H&S and Environmental rules

About you

With work continuing to roll in, this family run outfit needs a Graduate Engineer that is keen and willing to learn the ropes relatively quickly

Ideally, you should hit most of the points below:

  • Fully qualified Civil Engineer
  • Sound knowledge of Traffic Management and Health & Safety practises
  • Demonstrate that you are hardworking, knowledgeable and personable individual that can work in their own initiative but that can also take and follow directions
