As a BMS Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for managing and scheduling commissioning engineers across multiple projects. You will provide technical leadership, oversee commissioning procedures, and ensure all projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
This is a site-based role in Central London, with occasional travel to the Coulsdon office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the commissioning process, ensuring engineers set up and test BMS systems in line with contract documentation, specifications, and drawings.
- Oversee multiple projects and ensure they are adequately staffed and delivered efficiently.
- Source, interview, and engage qualified permanent and subcontract commissioning engineers.
- Attend commissioning meetings on and off-site as required.
- Work with project managers and engineers to develop commissioning procedures and techniques.
- Ensure that all commissioning work adheres to ISO 9001 & 14001 Quality Control Systems.
- Validate all testing using calibrated meters and test equipment.
- Ensure all BMS controls comply with contract specifications.
- Maintain high technical standards and drive continuous improvement in commissioning processes.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and profitably.
- Accurately record and report any site delays.
- Submit timesheets and maintain site diaries, ensuring all project information is logged correctly.
- Lead and support commissioning engineers, ensuring high performance across projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Support the training and development of junior team members.
Skills Required:
- Strong background in BMS commissioning, with experience in Trend, Distech, Tridium, and Delta systems.
- Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ONC/HNC standard or above).
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
- Familiarity with industry standards (BS7671, CIBSE, BSRIA guides).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
- CSCS cardholder (or willingness to obtain one).
- Holds SMSTS certification.
- Full UK driving licence (clean).
- Strong networking skills within the BMS industry.
