Senior Design EstimatorAs a Senior Design Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in optimising design and manufacturing processes. Your key responsibility is to ensure cost-effective production while maintaining high-quality standards. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver accurate estimates that support both profitability and customer satisfaction.   • Collaborate with the sales team to define project scope and provide guidance on custom or bespoke work.
  • Maintain and build relationships with suppliers to source materials and obtain competitive quotes.
  • Analyse production costs, including time, materials, labour, and equipment, to create accurate project estimates for the sales team.
  • Research suppliers and conduct site visits to assess capabilities and gather information on materials and outsourcing.
  • Use the internal ERP system to generate estimates and ensure they align with company targets.
  • Interpret technical drawings (CAD) to prepare precise estimates.
  • Work with production, technical, and design teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Recommend improvements to increase profitability while maintaining or enhancing product quality.
  • Support periodic reviews of catalogue collections and update costs, alerting leadership to significant changes.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and costing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems.
  • Experience with estimating or costing within a design or manufacturing environment, particularly in the high-end interior design sector (preferred).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
