Senior Design EstimatorAs a Senior Design Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in optimising design and manufacturing processes. Your key responsibility is to ensure cost-effective production while maintaining high-quality standards. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver accurate estimates that support both profitability and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with the sales team to define project scope and provide guidance on custom or bespoke work.
Maintain and build relationships with suppliers to source materials and obtain competitive quotes.
Analyse production costs, including time, materials, labour, and equipment, to create accurate project estimates for the sales team.
Research suppliers and conduct site visits to assess capabilities and gather information on materials and outsourcing.
Use the internal ERP system to generate estimates and ensure they align with company targets.
Interpret technical drawings (CAD) to prepare precise estimates.
Work with production, technical, and design teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Recommend improvements to increase profitability while maintaining or enhancing product quality.
Support periodic reviews of catalogue collections and update costs, alerting leadership to significant changes.

Skills and Experience Required:

Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and costing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems.
Experience with estimating or costing within a design or manufacturing environment, particularly in the high-end interior design sector (preferred).
Ability to interpret technical drawings and prepare detailed cost estimates.
Strong organisational, analytical, and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
