Our client, a medium consulting company with offices across the UK, are looking for a Drainage & Highways Engineer to join their growing team in London, England!

What you will need:

  • Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering
  • Chartered or working towards
  • Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) of working on projects where drainage/highways was a key/integral component of the design
  • Competence with appropriate software packages
  • Experience within civil design environment preferably within a consultancy environment
  • Experience of work winning including risk identification and mitigation
  • Ability to represent the company on site visits/surveys (sometimes in unsociable hours) in a professional manner
  • Experience of infrastructure projects, preferably rail or power sectors

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the team to provide specialist knowledge and drainage/highways designs as well as other projects as required
  • Undertake design for infrastructure projects, including 3D surface modelling and hydraulic drainage design.
  • Represent at client, contractor, and local authority meetings.
  • Knowledge of design and approvals for S278 and S38 highway schemes with design capability when supervised by senior staff.
  • Knowledge of design and approvals of S104, S106 and S185 drainage schemes, including awareness of current drainage legislation and sustainable drainage practice.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments.
  • Knowledge of working with relevant CAD package and drainage modelling software such as FLOW or Micro drainage.
