Role Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day project budgets, including Work in Progress on projects within your area of responsibility.
- Interpret, organise, research, analyse, and execute major projects or medium-scale projects.
- Take responsibility for fee control, technical direction, and senior client liaison.
- Draft and manage planning applications, pre-application enquiries, and appeals.
- Undertake basic planning appraisals and research.
- Provide guidance to engineers and architects on the production of drawings and supplemental planning information.
- Manage clients throughout the planning process, assisting with community engagement, committee meetings, and public examinations.
- Communicate with all stakeholders involved in the planning process, negotiating positive outcomes for the client.
- Attend occasional site visits and client meetings.
Ideal Candidate Criteria:
- Hold an RTPI accredited degree or Masters in a related discipline.
- Be a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute or be working towards it.
- Have at least a year of experience in the planning industry, in either the public or private sectors.
- Possess strong client liaison and project management skills.
- Demonstrate strong report writing skills and a good understanding of the UK infrastructure planning process.
