Cedar are supporting a Public Sector client based in London who are looking to hire an Interim Commercial Lead for their Construction category. This role will run for 6 months (potential to extend) and will operate OUTSIDE IR35 and offers a rate up to 600 per day. This role will also operate on a hybrid basis with the expectation to be on-site in the London offices 1 day per week with the remaining days working from home. Please note candidates applying must be able to commence a role in March 2025.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of Construction related procurements - ensuring compliance and value for money in line with the new Public Sector Procurement Act. As the Commercial Lead you will be responsible for procurement pipeline planning, stakeholder management and commercial processes and templates to ensure best practice is achieved throughout.

Candidates applying MUST HAVE:

  • strong background working in a similar role in the UK Public Sector, ideally with recent experience working in Central Government
  • experience delivering compliant procurements and value for money for requirements relating to Construction
  • strong experience and understanding of NEC form of contracting
  • strong stakeholder management skills
  • an understanding of the new Procurement Act and have completed the online modules
