Job Overview:

We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our private sector consultancy, supporting development planning and transport infrastructure projects. The role involves assessing transport impacts, preparing planning applications, and delivering innovative mobility solutions for private sector clients, including developers, housebuilders, and commercial stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans for planning applications.
  • Conduct junction capacity assessments and trip generation modelling.
  • Work with developers and local authorities to secure planning permissions.
  • Assess highway access, parking strategies, and sustainable transport solutions.
  • Use transport modelling tools such as Junctions 10, LinSig, and TRICS.
  • Engage with stakeholders, clients, and local authorities to negotiate planning approvals.
  • Support masterplanning and sustainable transport initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Experience in private sector transport planning or development planning.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning and highways policies (NPPF, DMRB, MfS).
  • Proficiency in transport modelling software (Junctions 10, LinSig, TRICS, AutoCAD, GIS).
  • Excellent report writing and data analysis skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities.
