EAL Tutor - South East London - Lewisham

Remedy are looking for EAL tutors in and around Lewisham to tutor young students who need to help with speaking and learning English.

The Successful EAL Tutor will be someone who is positive, flexible, and able to plan engaging sessions in order to work towards desired outcomes.

You will be supporting a range of young people from the ages of 5 - 18.

Tuition sessions can range from one - five hours per day (within and outside of school hours) depending on the student's timetable and capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with students to overcome barriers to learning
  • Implement teaching and learning strategies to make sessions engaging and motivating
  • Focus on topics including reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills
  • Complete weekly reports of student's engagement, attainment, and weekly attendance.
  • Liaise with multi agencies which could include a young person's school, social worker, or family members

Requirements

  • Must hold an EAL/ TEFL qualification
  • Have experience of previously working effectively with young people
  • Be someone who is compassionate, caring and understanding
  • Be able to work in the South London area
