Furniture Upholsterer - East London

£16.00 ph or £33,280 per annum (+ Optional evening & weekend overtime available)

My client is a highly successful furniture and upholstery manufacturing company based in East London, who currently require an experienced Furniture Upholsterer of Leatherworker to join their expanding business. They manufacture custom made upholstered seating and create and install bespoke wall panels and leather flooring. Their furniture & upholstery projects include private residences, office and commercial properties, hotels and restaurants, mainly in London and the Home counties.

Currently experiencing and exciting period of growth, their workload and client base has increased dramatically over the last few months, and as a result need to employ more Upholsterer 's and Furniture Maker 's to service these orders.

Upholsterer / Leatherworker experience required:

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience of working as an Upholsterer.
  • Must be capable of creating patterns for furniture and banquette seating, foaming up frames and
  • upholstering all types of furniture and seating
  • An Upholsterer capable of creating detailed chesterfield pleating, ribbing, sprung and webbed seating.
  • Upholstery machining skills would be very useful but are not essential.
  • Must have experience of upholstering banquette seating and working with both fabrics and leather.
  • Must be capable of reading and understanding architectural drawings.
  • Must have high attention to detail and be able to Quality control each project throughout the
  • manufacturing process
  • Capable of working in a team as well as working without supervision to a high standard
  • Being fluent in Polish would be helpful but is not essential.

This role is permanent and can either be full or part time. They offer 20 days paid holiday a year plus Bank holidays.

The role is physical and requires a good level of fitness. It involves working on your feet all day and lifting loads.
