We are working with a renowned and forward-thinking planning consultancy with a strong reputation in delivering exceptional solutions for complex infrastructure projects. Specialising in Development Consent Orders (DCO), rail, airport expansions, and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP), they work with a diverse range of clients across the public and private sectors.

My client is actively seeking an Associate Town Planner to join their Infrastructure team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planner to play a key role in shaping and delivering major infrastructure schemes that will have a significant impact on the UK's future.

Role Overview:
As an Associate Town Planner you will work on a diverse portfolio of complex projects, including DCOs, rail, airport expansions, NSIPs and more. You will be responsible for leading planning teams, providing expert advice, and ensuring the successful delivery of planning applications and consents in line with project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
路Lead and manage planning teams across major infrastructure projects, providing guidance and expertise on DCO applications, rail schemes, airport expansions, and other NSIP projects.
路Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to develop and implement effective planning strategies.
路Prepare and submit planning applications, ensuring compliance with relevant planning legislation and policies.
路Manage and oversee the preparation of supporting documents such as Environmental Statements (ES) and Planning Statements.
路Review and provide input on planning and environmental assessments for large-scale infrastructure projects.
路Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, the Environment Agency, and other statutory consultees.
路Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure the successful delivery of planning consents.
路Provide mentoring and support to junior staff within the planning team, helping to develop their skills and knowledge.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:
路MRTPI (Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute) or equivalent.
路Extensive experience in planning, with a strong focus on large-scale infrastructure projects such as DCOs, rail, and NSIPs.
路Proven experience in managing complex planning applications, including stakeholder engagement and statutory consultations.
路Strong understanding of UK planning legislation, particularly in relation to major infrastructure projects.
路Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
路Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead and deliver successful planning outcomes.
路Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff is desirable.
