My client is a young, vibrant scale-up who have secured Series A funding and are looking to expand greatly over the coming years. They specialise in the insurance sector and are in need of an additional Graduate Technical Analyst to work with our clients using our key Insurance products.
Summary of role
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient graduate to join our team as a Graduate Technical Analyst. This role is ideal for someone with strong skills in Python, R, or Excel (including VBA), and a keen interest in the Insurance industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in demonstrating our system capabilities, converting and integrating models, and ensuring seamless API connections.
Key Responsibilities• Collaborate with Sales Team: Assist the sales team by creating and conducting slick initial demonstrations of our products to potential clients, highlighting key features and benefits.
• Model Integration: Quickly and accurately convert complex spreadsheet models which often contain VBA into our no-code platform, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
• Client Demonstrations: Present the integrated models back to clients, ensuring they understand and appreciate the products’ capabilities and highlighting how it meets their exact requirements.
• VBA to Python/SQL Conversion: Convert existing VBA models into Python scripts or SQL queries to improve efficiency and integration with our products.
• API Setup and Integration: Establish and manage API connections between our platform and external systems, ensuring smooth data exchange.
Experience
• Education: Recent graduate with a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, etc.) at least a 2.1 grade (or equivalent). Will also except applications from those who lack the relevant qualification if they have and can demonstrate experience in the insurance field• Technical Skills: Require significant experience in at least one of the following: Python, R, Excel (must include VBA). Basic proficiency of all of the above and knowledge of SQL is a strong plus.• Interest or experience in Insurance: A demonstrated interest in the Insurance industry and its applications. Actuarial knowledge or appetite to study for actuarial exams encouraged but not necessary.• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
