End User Computer Engineer

Location: Ealing, London

Salary: £47,532 - £ 49,551 per annum (Inclusive) Grade 11

The Role

The ICT and Data Management Department within the Council is currently looking to recruit an End User Computer Engineer (Enterprise Applications Engineer).

You will be responsible for promoting the requirements and for all aspects of Information Governance and handling, including Information Security, Data Protection, Information Management and access to information (e.g. the Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulations).

Your main job function will be to assist with continuous process improvement and the creative pursuit of new ideas for all Enterprise and Business Applications, included in this will be to ensure that applications meet business requirements, evaluate and deploy new applications, enhance existing applications, design, develop and document application enhancements and upgrades and to develop new builds applications for a variety of hardware.

You will work within a team working on the Council’s enterprise application systems and will liaise with the Enterprise Applications Manager to set schedules and priorities for projects and workload

The successful candidate will be responsible for their own workload and tasks providing feedback to the team and to the Microsoft 365 Technical Lead and will assisting the other team members as required.

From a technical perspective, they will need you to be able to have experience in the following:

  • Knowledge and experience of implementing Microsoft Server technologies, including 2016, 2019 and 2022
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory along with Azure Active Directory
  • A good grounding and practical experience of creating and supporting Windows PowerShell scripts
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft suite, including the cloud offering of Office O365
  • Good understanding of SaaS and PaaS within the Microsoft stack, including SharePoint, Identity and Access Management, Exchange online and Teams administration
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint manager, including supporting and pushing out of applications, conditional access policies, configuration profiles and changes within this platform
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft desktop operating systems, including Windows 10 and 11
  • Experience in dealing with vendors to ensure that operational issues resolved in a timely manner
  • Experience in creating and supporting group polices, including troubleshooting
  • Experience of imaging technologies, in particular Microsoft-centric based technologies
  • Experience of supporting mobile devices, including MDM software
  • Up to date knowledge of new and emerging technologies within the Microsoft stack
  • Setting up and using Microsoft Surface Hubs (Desirable)
  • Experience of the Netcall telephony platform (Desirable)
  • Experience of the Microsoft Unified support platform (Desirable)
  • Experience of using and supporting Microsoft Copilot (Desirable).
