We are seeking a dedicated User Researcher to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in understanding user needs and behaviours to help shape our services and products for the better. Your insights will be influential in guiding our design decisions and ensuring that our offerings are user-friendly and accessible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct user research activities, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and observations, to gather insights about user needs and experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and product managers, to share research findings and inform design decisions.
  • Analyse research data and present findings in a clear and actionable manner to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that research methods and outputs align with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and best practises.
  • Advocate for user-centred design principles and practises across the organisation, promoting a culture of accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Contribute to the development of user personas, journey maps, and other artefacts that represent user needs and pain points.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in user research, usability testing, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of GDS assessment processes and criteria, and how they apply to user research.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practises to ensure all users can interact with our services effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
