Motor Mechanic - Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate Motor Mechanics Instructor to join one of our partnered specialist schools on a full-time basis. The role involves working closely with students who have SEMH (Social & emotional special needs), providing practical and engaging motor mechanics lessons to equip them with valuable skills for their future.
This Motor mechanic opportunity is based on site at an all-through SEN school where they cater to Primary, secondary & sixth form students with a mixtute of needs, primarily social and emotional challenges. The school is based in South West London and is based close to an overground and underground stations as well as great bus routes. They also have on-site free parking.
The school offers additional training throughout the academic year such as Safeguarding, team teach and other CPD / courses via the school training/INSET days.
Motor Mechanic - Key Details:
- Location: South London
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience (£130-£220)
- Free onsite parking
- Free CPD
- Year groups - Mainly secondary year groups and sixth form
Motor Mechanic - Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver practical and theory-based motor mechanics sessions tailored to the needs of SEMH learners.
- Support students in developing vocational and employability skills.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with the wider staff team to meet the diverse needs of the students.
- Delivery of lessons and activities to teach young people the basics and key areas of Motor mechanics
Who We're Looking For:
This role is open to experienced Motor Mechanics Instructors, Senior Mechanics, or individuals with strong industry experience who would like to teach young people the skills and key areas of motor mechanics.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in motor mechanics (industry or training).
- Patience and empathy to young vulnerable people
- Confidence in leading, teaching methods and knowledge
- Be available to work Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4pm term time
- Be confident in building positive rapport with young people
