Marine/ Shipment Coordinator / London (SE1)/ £72,700 - 98,400 per annum /12 Month contractAs a Marine/Shipment Coordinator, you will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth processing of customer orders, collaborating closely with various stakeholders including sales, dispatch, customer service, warehouse, and shipping/receiving teams, Responsible for addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints efficiently.Your primary duties will include:

  • Managing the operations and scheduling of cargoes, including third-party contracts.
  • Overseeing equipment management from various third parties, ensuring compliance with existing or new contracts.
  • Generating scheduling orders based on trade signals.
  • Ensuring thorough vetting of marine equipment prior to loading.
  • Formulating and issuing voyage orders and letters of indemnity.
  • Providing timely and accurate schedule and vessel-related information to meet safety and utilization objectives.
  • Optimizing the supply and delivery of bunkers for time-chartered vessels.
  • Collaborating with sites to support long-range planning and refinery turnarounds.
  • Serving as the primary contact for billing disputes and resolutions.
  • Working closely with Demurrage Claims to minimize losses and maximize value.

About You:

  • Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a numeric discipline i.e. Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics (or equivalent work experience with a strong track record of P&L performance).
  • Experience in Marine Commercial operations, with a focus on evaluating, optimizing, and managing freight operations, along with a solid understanding of risk management.
  • Strong commercial acumen, entrepreneurial mindset, and proficiency in analytical and IT skills.
  • Demonstrated personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to influence business decisions in a multicultural team environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), with additional language skills considered advantageous.
