Job Role: Food Technology Teacher
Location: Barking and Dagenham
Salary: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long Term, Full Time
GSL Education London Branch is looking for a Food Technology Teacher to join a mixed secondary academy in Barking and Dagenham. Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Teach students about food preparation, nutrition, hygiene, and safety.
- Support students in developing practical cooking skills and theoretical knowledge.
- Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement.
- Prepare lesson materials, resources, and practical demonstrations.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in the food technology classroom.
- Work closely with colleagues and contribute to the school’s wider curriculum.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- A valid DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
