GSL Education London Branch is looking for a Food Technology Teacher to join a mixed secondary academy in Barking and Dagenham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Food Technology Teacher to inspire students and develop their skills in food preparation, nutrition, and healthy living. Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teach students about food preparation, nutrition, hygiene, and safety.
  • Support students in developing practical cooking skills and theoretical knowledge.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement.
  • Prepare lesson materials, resources, and practical demonstrations.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in the food technology classroom.
  • Work closely with colleagues and contribute to the school’s wider curriculum.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and health & safety regulations.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • A valid DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
