We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher Lead who is proficient in all Design and Technology (DT) subjects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering high-quality Food Technology education, inspiring students to develop their skills and creativity. Additionally, you will oversee the DT curriculum, ensuring it is engaging and comprehensive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Food Technology department, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across all DT subjects, with a primary focus on Food Technology.
  • Develop and implement a creative and inclusive curriculum that meets national standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their best.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate cross-curricular activities and projects.
  • Maintain a safe and well-equipped learning environment, managing resources effectively.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and the wider school community to promote the importance of DT education.
  • Stay current with developments in DT education, incorporating new techniques and technologies into the curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Food Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Food Technology and other DT subjects at the secondary school level.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for innovative teaching methods.
