We are actively looking for a Functional Skills Lecturer to join our educational team, with expertise in either Maths or English. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the personal development of learners and support their positive contribution to the community.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assess learners’ progress, provide constructive feedback, and guide them towards development goals.
  • Tailor both accredited and non-accredited programmes to the needs and interests of the learners.
  • Foster a supportive educational environment that promotes academic success and personal development.
  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that elevate learners’ ambitions and encourage self-directed learning.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 9 to 4, A* to C, or equivalent).
  • Ability to secure a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching within the subject specialism, particularly within the offender learning sector.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent.
