We are actively seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor with expertise in either Maths or English to join our clients educational team within the offender learning sector. This role involves travel between sites in Islington and East Acton, London, and plays a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of our learners, aiding their positive reintegration into the community.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that elevate learners’ ambitions and encourage self-directed learning.
  • Tailor both accredited and non-accredited programmes to meet the unique needs and interests of learners.
  • Develop individualised learning plans that equip learners with essential skills, knowledge and behaviours for positive progression.
  • Foster a supportive educational environment that promotes academic success and personal development.
  • Assess learners’ progress, provide constructive feedback, and assist them in achieving their developmental goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 9 to 4, A* to C, or equivalent).
  • A qualification in the specialist subject area of Functional Skills English or Maths.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching within the subject specialism, particularly within the offender learning sector.
  • A Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
