About the Job:Morgan Hunt are working with a dynamic and progressive further education and training college in the heart of Westminster, dedicated to providing high-quality education and training in a variety of subjects. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, skilled Hairdressing Lecturer to join a vibrant team and contribute to the College's mission of offering excellent vocational training in the hairdressing industry.

Role Overview:As a Hairdressing Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative lessons to students enrolled in hairdressing programs. You will support the development of both practical and theoretical skills, ensuring students gain the knowledge and experience necessary to succeed in the hairdressing industry. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of hairdressing professionals in a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Hairdressing Lecturer:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons to a diverse range of learners.
  • Teach both practical and theoretical aspects of hairdressing, including cutting, styling, colouring and salon management.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help learners reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant to industry standards.
  • Maintain a safe and productive learning environment that supports students' personal and professional development.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and continuous professional development activities.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Level 3 or higher qualification in Hairdressing (or equivalent).
  • Full UK recognised teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in the hairdressing industry, including practical salon experience.
  • Strong knowledge of current hairdressing trends, techniques and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Enhanced Child DBS certificate on the Update Service or issued within the past year.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience teaching in a further education and training setting.
  • Knowledge of the latest developments in hairdressing and beauty industry standards.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
