Join the School of Science, IT, and Media at FE College as a full-time Lecturer in Computing and ICT. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of learners by providing them with the essential skills and knowledge required in the computing industry, preparing them for IT careers, apprenticeships, and higher education.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver a comprehensive range of Computing courses from Level 2 to Level 5, including T Level qualifications.
  • Utilize your expertise in areas such as Computer Games Development, Power BI, Cloud Storage and Tools, Big Data and Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Networking and Cyber Security, and Programming (C++, Java, Python).
  • Engage and motivate young learners aged 16-19 through innovative teaching practices.
  • Develop and update course materials to reflect the latest trends and technologies in the computing field.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development sessions, and other college activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in a Computing subject.
  • Some teaching experience, preferably in a further education setting.
  • Knowledge and experience in at least two of the specified computing areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage and inspire young learners.
  • Willingness to obtain an advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (financial support provided by the College).
