Your expertise in electrical installation, along with your passion for teaching, will help students gain the practical and theoretical knowledge necessary to succeed in the modern electrical industry. You will work in a collaborative and innovative environment, contributing to the ongoing development of our curriculum and ensuring students meet the industry’s highest standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in electrical installation to students at various levels.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with industry standards and qualifications.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, helping them achieve their academic and professional goals.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, regulations, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve and update the curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Maintain a safe and professional learning environment in line with health and safety standards.
  • Undertake any administrative duties related to the role, including record-keeping and reporting.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • A relevant qualification in Electrical Installation (e.g., City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ).
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd) or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Proven experience working in the electrical installation industry, with up-to-date knowledge of current practices and regulations (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for teaching and helping students reach their full potential.
  • Experience in delivering training or education is desirable but not essential.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in delivering electrical installation courses in a Further Education setting.
  • Familiarity with digital teaching tools and online learning platforms.
  • A student-centred approach to teaching, with a commitment to enhancing the student experience.
  • A passion for industry innovation and developing students' employability skills.
