Job Description

We are urgently seeking a SEN Lecturer to join an excellent team at a leading Further Education and Training College based in South London. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated person with experience in Further Education and Training, specifically in teaching learners with profound learning difficulties.

The successful candidate will have the chance to make a positive difference in the lives of students with significant learning needs, fostering an environment that promotes personal growth and development. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the field of Further Education and Training, working with learners to achieve their full potential.

Key Duties of the SEN Lecturer

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
  • Work in partnership with a dedicated team of educators and support staff.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create an environment that is welcoming, accessible and safe for all learners.
  • Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

Essential Criteria for the SEN Lecturer

  • Valid UK Teaching Qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in FE, particularly with learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
  • Strong dedication to Special Educational Needs and the ability to assist students with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and relational skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with students and colleagues.
