As a Sports Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons and supporting students in achieving their academic and vocational goals within the field of Sports. You will play a vital role in shaping the future careers of the students, while contributing to the continued success of a well-regarded Sports department.

Key Responsibilities of a Sports Lecturer:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in a range of Sports-related subjects, including theory and practical elements.
  • Develop, plan and implement courses that meet curriculum standards and the needs of learners.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuous improvement and high-quality provision in the department.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular sports activities and events, where appropriate.

Essential Criteria of a Sports Lecturer:

  • A relevant degree or qualification in Sports Studies, Physical Education, Coaching or a related field.
  • Full, UK recognised teaching qualification (such as PGCE or CertEd).
  • A proven track record of teaching or coaching in the Sports sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for helping students develop their skills and reach their potential.
  • A DBS certificate on the Update Service or one issued within the past year.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in delivering further education and training courses, particularly in Sports-related subjects.
  • Knowledge of current Sports industry trends and practices.
  • Experience in coaching or Sports leadership.
  • Be willing to travel in and around South London.
