The Physical Education Department
We are looking for a leader who can make a significant contribution to this thriving and successful department. All students in KS3 and 4 study Core PE and we also offer GCSE and CNAT qualifications. In addition to PE lessons, we also have a range of extracurricular clubs and teams that are extremely popular. The ideal candidate will have a proven record designing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of an ambitious and enriching Physical Education curriculum as well as developing the teaching of others. The successful applicant will be creative, well organised and will actively assist in the further development of Physical Education and sport within the College, contributing to the vibrant programme of extra-curricular support provided for all pupils.
Key responsibilities:
•    Supporting and reporting to the Leadership Group Line Manager and leading learning in the PE department.
•    Inspiring the teaching team to work and move forward together. 
•    Taking a leading role in departmental meetings and training days. 
•    Work strategically to meet departmental targets.
•    Manage the behaviour in the department to uphold whole school professional standards. Develop systems within the department to maintain outstanding behaviour. 
•    Attending regular meetings with the Line Manager. 
•    Developing action plans and targeting students for support or intervention. 
•    Developing KS5 extracurricular PE provision
•    Leading extracurricular PE clubs across the school.

Key Stage/Year Group Outcomes:
•    Leading teaching staff and pupils to ensure outstanding outcomes for CNAT and GCSE students to meet their target grades.
•    To plan the curriculum delivery for the course, including all mock, internally and externally assessed  examinations or coursework and managing exam entries, ensuring smooth transitions e.g. from Year 10 to Year 11.
•    Monitoring progress of students, managing internal assessments, analysing tracking data, providing support and strategic intervention and identifying and working with target groups, showing a clear impact on progress and outcomes.
•    Write half-termly reports to summarise work and progress towards outcomes; provide an action plan for the next half term. 
•    To undertake other duties as requested by the, LG Line Manager or Headteacher as appropriate.
