Reporting directly to the CPO, you will oversee the operational teams including payroll, rewards, and people data analytics.

This is a senior, hands-on role where you will work collaboratively across the team to optimise our employee experience and drive strategic initiatives, whilst delivering a compliant and robust day-to-day service.

Description

Within the role the key area of the role where this person needs experience is the Data Management and Analytics side - the payroll and Reward side are desirable.

People Data Management & Analytics:

  • Own the accuracy, security, and integrity of all people-related data
  • Ensure we can provide the people team and business leaders with data-driven insights and reporting on key people metrics (turnover rates, compensation trends, etc.) to inform decision-making
  • Support the leads within the team to deliver strong data across the business

Payroll Management:

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate processing for all employees in compliance with UK/ROI payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • National minimum wage monitoring
  • Understanding of shift working

Reward & Benefits:

  • Oversee annual pay review cycles and ensure role benchmarking is effective in ensuring we have competitive and fair pay structures
  • Ownership of BAU benefits management including a Reward Administrator, ensuring appropriate level of service provided for employees regarding Private Medical cover, Healthcare Assessments, Flu Jabs, eyecare vouchers, and long service awards

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure that all payroll, compensation, and benefits processes comply with relevant UK/ROI legislation, including tax, pension, and employment law.
  • Stay up to date on changes to regulations and industry best practices to ensure our policies remain compliant and competitive, creating proposals where necessary to enhance our position
  • Act as the primary point of contact for any internal or external audits relating to the people team

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration:

  • Drive process improvement and efficiency within payroll, reward, and people data systems, implementing changes as needed.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all matters relating to reward, payroll, and people data.

Profile

  • Most important is the experience with HR Operations - ie. data & Analytics and managing a team within this space
  • Significant experience in a similar role, ideally within a large, fast-paced retail/hospitality organisation
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax regulations, and benefits administration with an ability to manage complex processes and ensure compliance across payroll, reward and employment law
  • Expertise in people data management and the ability to analyse and interpret people data to drive strategic decisions, experience with Oracle EBS-HR would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leaders.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ideal candidate will be able to think strategically while having the hands-on expertise to manage day-to-day operations effectively
  • Whilst not essential, it would also be preferable to have experience in developing and implementing reward strategies, including compensation benchmarking and incentive programmes.
