Salary: £28,000 - £29,000 per annum

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until March 2025 (with view to extend)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The company are looking for a Training and Best Practice Coordinator (Volunteer Management) to join an established team who collectively work to inspire and place volunteers into a wide range of volunteering roles in Barnet.

The Role

The post holder will focus on building the knowledge and capabilities of voluntary and faith organisations to develop and embed quality volunteer management practises in their organisations and support the creation of volunteering roles that inspire prospective volunteers to apply.

You will develop an annual training programme for Barnet voluntary and faith organisations and provide tailored 1-1 support where required. The potholders work programme will be informed by the Barnet Volunteering Strategy (2023-26).

The post will work daily on their online brokerage platform, Team Kinetic.

They will join a team of five and work in close collaboration with the Programme Manager, Project Manager, Volunteer Officers and wider Barnet Together colleagues to shape, plan and deliver the project activity.

The post will predominately be based in Barnet, working from varied locations and will line manager one or two officers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Have a passion for volunteering and want to support a dynamic voluntary and community sector
  • Experience developing and delivering training courses; in volunteer management is desirable
  • Experience in volunteer management
  • Excellent team work skills
  • Ability to manage a changeable work plan and priorities, whilst supporting others to do the same
  • Confident in using CRM systems and working with and analysing data

Collaboratively they provide quality training, volunteering support and provide vital resources and advice for Barnet’s community organisations.

The company deliver a range of projects and programmes across the London Borough of Barnet, including Volunteering Barnet – the Borough Volunteer Service, Barnet Food Distribution Hub, Barnet Health Champions and the LOOP (Upcycling Centre). Furthermore, they are the Volunteer Centre in Kingston.
