Club Oenologique, Digital Content Producer - maternity cover (12-month, fixed-term contract)
Club Oenologique is seeking a Digital Content Producer to join its editorial team.
The Digital Content Producer will be responsible for supporting ClubOenologique.com in its mission to become the go-to platform for wine and spirit enthusiasts. This is a maternity cover role for a contracted period of 12 months.
The role will focus on maintaining and growing digital traffic, retaining existing users, helping build a database of subscribers and reaching new audiences via digital content creation, reporting into and working closely alongside the Digital Editor.
This content is a key arm of the IWSC’s core marketing strategy, and the Digital Content Producer will work towards our sister company’s goals within their role on ClubOenologique.com
The ideal candidate will be organised and used to working on a busy digital desk and to deadline, with at least three years’ experience in digital journalism. They should be able to demonstrate a good handle of the changing trends in social media and SEO. Ideally, they will also be able to demonstrate a keen interest in wine, spirits and the growing market of non-alcoholic beverages.
Key responsibilities:
- Using the CMS to upload, update and optimise content according to the digital content calendar and to deadlines
- Writing, editing and proofreading content for the website and social media channels, and helping to generate ideas based on the latest trends in wine, spirits, food and travel
- Creating, scheduling and monitoring organic and paid social media content and campaigns across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X and BlueSky
- Working closely with the Digital Editor and the wider team on the execution of larger digital projects, including ‘Reports’
- Planning and supporting digital content updates using SEO and analytics tools
- Helping shape and schedule content for weekly and monthly newsletters
- Working with the Digital Editor to track the performance of content across the website and social, and communicating progress to the wider team
- Supporting in the commissioning of unique and topical stories for the website from an international pool of freelance journalists
- Helping update and maintain homepages and hub pages across the website
- Working with the Digital Editor and the wider IWSC team on the execution of partnership content and to ensure IWSC recommendations are optimised on the Club Oenologique website
- Attending external events and representing the Club Oenologique brand
This is the job for you if you are/have…
- Strong project management and time management skills
- Proven experience writing and creating content for digital audiences
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Experience in using CMS tools and a knowledge of and passion for technology and digital
- Knowledge and experience of web content delivery using best practice and industry standard tools
- A strong understanding of SEO
- A thorough understanding of social media platforms and a keen interest in the latest trends
- A self-starter with the ability to prioritise, work to deadlines, use initiative and perform under pressure
- At least three years of work experience in digital content production or similar; ideally with a journalistic background or NCTJ/equivalent qualification
- A keen interest in wine and spirits
