You’ll have the chance to take ownership of projects, contribute to key decisions, and influence the technical direction of the company. Your professional development is of great significance, and you will be provided with formal training in Umbraco and Microsoft courses that are mutually beneficial.

About Peck Tech:

Peck Tech is a small, growing company that builds bespoke line-of-business applications and Umbraco-based websites. We believe in delivering high-quality projects, always looking to improve our quality and productivity through creative thinking and innovation. With a team of just three, you’ll have a significant level of autonomy and the opportunity to carve out a role that suits your unique skills.

This isn’t a standard corporate developer role—our flexible approach allows you to shape your position based on your strengths and interests. We work with a relatively small client base on both greenfield and brownfield projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain applications using C# and .NET technologies
  • Maintain high-quality code with best practices like unit testing and regular code reviews
  • Shape the technical direction of projects and make key design decisions
  • Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems
  • Support customers with their on-going support and maintenance needs
  • Work with project management software, for estimating work and recording your progress
  • Work independently and proactively manage your workload

Required Skills and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of commercial experience with C# and .NET
  • A strong understanding of best practice object-oriented programming, including a variety of code patterns
  • Experience with Entity Framework
  • Familiarity with SQL databases
  • Experience working remotely and independently
  • A pragmatic mindset to balance ideals against time & budget
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt and carve out your own role in a small, flexible team

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Azure
  • Experience with Umbraco or another content management system
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React, Angular)
  • Front-end development experience is welcome, but not essential

We've been candidates too, so we know how frustrating it is if you don’t hear back from a job application. We’d love to respond to everyone, however given the high volume of responses we receive from the combination of job boards, social media and other sources and despite our best efforts, we simply can’t get back to every application - We know that’s not what you want to hear but we hope you’ll understand?

Short-listed candidates will obviously be contacted for this specific role and if you haven’t heard from us within a week, please assume you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.

We will keep your CV on file to contact you with regards to future roles and any other advice to help you, however if you do not wish to remain on our database, please let us know and we will obviously remove you. Alternatively, feel free to contact us for a chat.
