Responsibilities
- Undertake all aspects of repairs, maintenance, renewals and replacements ranging from routine reactive repairs to major renewals of installations in occupied and void properties.
- The role will involve planned and reactive repairs to tenanted and communal areas on SHP managed properties.
- Clearing gutters with skyvac equipment and jetting gullies and manholes to remove blockages and carry out preventive maintenance.
- Fault finding and diagnosing the causes in your specialist trade to identify the most appropriate cost effective solution is applied
- Responsible for ensuring that any follow-on or related repair works are identified where these cannot be completed during the first visit.
- Providing sufficient detail to enable repairs to be planned and scheduled for completion at the next appointment
- Ability to work alone and independently with minimal levels of supervision, taking ownership and using initiative to resolve plumbing defects and problems, obtaining guidance when appropriate.
- Responsible for maintaining contact and working collaboratively with Repairs Team Supervisors and Planners to provide updates on the progress of work to ensure overall service objectives are met.
Requirements
- City and Guilds, NVQ Level qualification OR equivalent qualification OR qualified by experience
- Skilled Trades that have used Skyvac and or Jetting equipment.
- Certificates of attendance in Health & Safety training relevant to the role
- The post requires a clean and valid driving licence
- Previous experience working in a housing association or council
Contract
- Initial 3 month contract with the opportunity to extend
- Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
- PAYE via Umbrella
- CIS if a UTR number can be provided
