Reed have been exclusively appointed to recruit a commercially focused Finance Director to our client’s leadership team, due to retirement.  This role is crucial in driving future performance and supporting the ambitions of this dynamic & fast-growing business, as they further expand into global markets.

The successful candidate will be a strategic partner within the company, ensuring financial robustness whilst navigating through a period of significant growth.

Working closely with the Managing Director and as part of a structured leadership team, the Financial Director will hold a varied and developing remit to include the following:

  • Provide expert financial guidance as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and Leadership Team
  • Develop a financial strategy that aligns with overall business objectives and delivers shareholders value                                       
  • Communicate financial performance across the business, offering clear insights and actionable recommendations
  • Prepare financial statements ensuring compliance with Financial Reporting Standards
  • Monthly Reporting of accurate financials to the head office within strict deadlines
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and KPIs for Operational Board
  • Project Accounting and Gross Profit Margin Reporting
  • Stock Management Oversight and WIP reporting
  • Lead and manager transactional staff responsible for AR, AP & Payroll
  • Treasury Management, bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting
  • Vat Returns: UK, ROI, (& several other European countries)    
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Investment appraisals                 
  • Oversee HMRC Custom Returns           
  • Further develop reporting on current software and integrate technology platforms
  • Liaison with Auditors, Tax Advisors, European Accountants and Banks

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) offering at least 10 years of progressive experience in financial roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a Financial Director/ Controller or similar senior position within a commercial organisation
  • Strong technological proficiency, with experience in using technology to enhance business efficiency
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating complex financial information across the business
  • Experience within manufacturing/construction preferred
