Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our client in Derry/ Londonderry to recruit a new full time and permanent Manufacturing Team Leader

PLEASE NOTE THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN NORTHERN IRELAND - NOT UK MAINLAND

As a Team Leader, you will be involved with the planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for ensuring that all direct employees comply with NHP Health & Safety procedures and processes. To ensure goods and services are produced to specified specifications, efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality. This role is based on a 24/7 shift pattern reporting directly to the Shift Performance Manager.


In this role you are responsible for:

  • Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to at all times, including wearing PPE as appropriate. Acquire knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, work instructions, and associated documentation. Comply with all Health & Safety Policies and instructions and actively contribute to Company efforts to promote safe behaviour and safe systems of work.
  • Support the Shift Performance Manager to deliver the highest quality, risk free products through the effective deployment of WCOM/Lean Manufacturing practice.
  • Achieve shift production targets on time and to our Quality system standards.
  • Diagnose problem causes and take corrective action.
  • Ensure team are constantly informed regarding Gainshare metrics.
  • Ensure that Manufacturing personnel perform the required Quality inspections. To resolve minor Quality exceptions quickly and effectively through Q-up or other means. Escalate Quality exceptions that cannot be resolved by Quality representative.
  • Coach and mentor, development programmes, Disciplinary & Grievance, Absence management, investigations, performance appraisals, succession planning, create positive partnerships, supervising and motivating.
  • Team communications/meetings - providing constructive feedback, visual management & regular performance presentations.
  • SAP problem solving, accurately and timely.
  • Adherence to schedule, adjusting schedules as needed, liaising with planning to ensure efficiency.



Essential Criteria:

  • 2 year's supervisory/management experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Evidence of using initiative to improve Performance and Health & safety compliance, demonstrating your leadership ability.
  • Willingness to undertake rotational shifts with varying patterns dependent on business needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.



Desirable Criteria:

  • SAP knowledge / experience
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement.

42 hours per week 24/7 shift pattern - 07:000 - 19:00 & 19:00 - 07:00
