One of our amazing schools are looking for a Mentor dedicated to supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Their mission is to provide an inclusive, supportive environment where every student can achieve their full potential.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate Mentor to work in an Alternative Provision. You will provide guidance, support, and mentorship to students, helping them navigate their challenges and fostering their personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
  • Provide one-on-one and group mentorship to support emotional and social development.
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, mental health professionals, and parents.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to support students.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues and their impact on behaviour and learning.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in mentoring, counselling, or mental health support.
