Drainage Operations Manager

An exciting position has become available for a full-time Drainage Operations Supervisor based near Dartford Kent.

The position will be Monday to Friday and hours will be 7:30AM - 5:30PM and will include being out of the office from time to time.

Key Skills

  • Hold level 2 Plumbing NVQ or higher (not required but preferred) and/or water jetting qualifications
  • Hold a full UK Driving licence
  • A very strong knowledge of drainage spares & equipment as well as drainage systems and working methods
  • Able to prioritise workloads, multitasking is a must as we are a fast-paced reactive maintenance company
  • Excellent organisational skills and be able to work to deadlines and be able to work under pressure
  • The ability to pick up new processes and retain process information

Drainage Operations Supervisor Duties

  • Managing a team of drainage engineers who are road-based
  • Ordering of materials and placing of orders with suppliers
  • Attending various sites and supervising works being carried out
  • Assisting customers with specific inquiries and job bookings
  • Providing clients with updates on progression of works
  • Working to tight timescales as part of a high-performing team
  • Liaise with engineers to book follow on jobs for customers
  • Implementing new processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Approaching, meeting and onboarding new clients
  • Assisting in the day to day to running of the drainage reactive & planned works division.
  • Giving technical advice and assisting engineers in bringing each job to completion
  • Working closely with the helpdesk planning future works
  • Liaising & dealing with clients on a regular basis
  • Being available on your mobile to assist engineers and clients sometimes during out of hours periods
  • Covering phones on escalations during out of hours periods based on a rota
  • Carrying out site visits and site audits
  • Carrying out vehicle inspections alongside the transport division
  • The raising of further recommendations & quotation working closely with our estimators & buying team
  • The raising of RAMS in readiness for site visits
