About the Role: As a Seafreight Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of goods by sea. You'll handle a variety of tasks, including:

  • Managing customs clearance processes
  • Coordinating documentation and logistics
  • Resolving customer inquiries and complaints
  • Ensuring timely delivery of cargo

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Seafreight operations
  • Strong knowledge of freight terms and documentation
  • Ability to calculate costs and charges
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chasing customs clearance documents
  • Responding to email queries promptly
  • Collecting necessary documentation for cargo release
  • Arranging haulage with shipping lines and hauliers
  • Updating internal operating systems
  • Securing payment for COD accounts and duty/VAT invoices
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Resolving customer issues
  • Completing file closing procedures
  • Understanding and utilizing One World system
  • Protecting the interests of the business

Daily Routines:

  • Chasing customs clearance documents every two days
  • Confirming all telephone conversations via email
  • Collecting House Bill of Lading or Telex Release
  • Checking customer credit terms
  • Responding to email queries within the same day
  • Generating file closing cost/sales invoices
  • Archiving closed shipment files
  • Adhering to company procedures
