About the Role: As a Seafreight Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of goods by sea. You'll handle a variety of tasks, including:
- Managing customs clearance processes
- Coordinating documentation and logistics
- Resolving customer inquiries and complaints
- Ensuring timely delivery of cargo
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Seafreight operations
- Strong knowledge of freight terms and documentation
- Ability to calculate costs and charges
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Chasing customs clearance documents
- Responding to email queries promptly
- Collecting necessary documentation for cargo release
- Arranging haulage with shipping lines and hauliers
- Updating internal operating systems
- Securing payment for COD accounts and duty/VAT invoices
- Processing supplier invoices
- Resolving customer issues
- Completing file closing procedures
- Understanding and utilizing One World system
- Protecting the interests of the business
Daily Routines:
- Chasing customs clearance documents every two days
- Confirming all telephone conversations via email
- Collecting House Bill of Lading or Telex Release
- Checking customer credit terms
- Responding to email queries within the same day
- Generating file closing cost/sales invoices
- Archiving closed shipment files
- Adhering to company procedures
