About the Role

We are looking for a Site Services Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our cutting-edge gas storage facility. Key Responsibilities
- Safety, Health & Environment
- Execute all duties with a strong commitment to safety, following all regulations, procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee civils and grounds maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and that contractors are suitably qualified.
- Conduct risk assessments, issue work permits, and monitor contractor performance to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Lead investigations into land management or civils maintenance-related incidents, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Participate in safety forums and compliance meetings, driving continuous improvement in site safety.
- Operations & Site Management
- Manage and maintain all estate-related assets, including buildings, roads, fencing, drainage, signage, and landscaping.
- Oversee the management of buried services drawings, including the HV feeder from Lostock substation, and act as the primary contact for excavation and ground disturbance activities.
- Act as the main liaison with landowners and tenant farmers, addressing concerns and managing land use agreements.
- Support engineering and maintenance teams with civils-related tasks such as excavation control, road repairs, and concrete installations.
- Lead and manage key site contracts, including landscaping, fencing, pipework painting, and road repairs.
- Handle planning interactions with local authorities, ensuring compliance with planning conditions and environmental regulations.
- Manage CAPEX projects from scoping and budgeting to contractor selection and execution.
- Maintain contractor welfare facilities, ensuring high standards for mess cabins and sanitation facilities.
- Oversee Legionella control across site buildings, chairing quarterly meetings and ensuring compliance with water safety regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Educational Background: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Land Management.
- Certifications: SSSTS or SMSTS qualifications are desirable.
- Technical Skills: Experience using CAT & Genny for utility location; EUSR Category 1 certification is a plus.
- Experience: Previous involvement in land management, site maintenance, or civils-based operations within an industrial setting.
- Communication & Leadership: Strong ability to liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies while leading projects effectively.
