The Senior Technician role demands that the holder of the position is able to learn and adapt to current and new technology, they will become the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in all aspects of Manufacturing and Packaging equipment.

The role will also demand that the Senior Technician will be proficient in fault finding, repair and maintenance of process supply equipment (Except Nitrogen) and production aligned ancillary equipment.

  • Provide and demonstrate expert level support for breakdowns in the department.
  • (Escalated). Resolution of advanced level equipment breakdown, and feedback to production and maintenance leadership teams
  • First contact breakdown/alarms of Value Stream support equipment chillers, propellant systems decal water systems and cabinets
  • Problem solving techniques / demonstrated fault finding skills.
  • ATEX competency for fault finding and like for like component replacement.
  • Maintain and repair, Packaging/Process/Manufacturing, and process service equipment to validated specification.
  • Demonstrate sound fault-finding Diagnostic ability (Use fault finding tools i.e., Fishbone, 5 Whys C&E etc.)
  • Identify root cause and provide solutions to Issues, working with relevant resource to resolve.
  • Maintaining equipment and assets in a safe, compliant, and reliable order
  • Provide technical advice and solutions for equipment issues.
  • Use predictive maintenance tools and Techniques to reduce equipment breakdown.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and skills in continuous improvement activities.
  • Ownership of Engineering change control activity
  • Data analysis & interpretation (for example OEE Studio Vorne D365 Trend etc.) driving Improvement activity.
  • Own Criticality Assessment activity
  • Complete criticality assessments and reliability assessments
  • Deliver and report equipment/process CI Improvements
  • Reduce MTTR and Increase MTBF (Identify root cause and implement corrective measures)
  • Develop and demonstrate key skills pertaining to job role.
  • Will be SMEs for current production, ancillary equipment, and production supporting utilities.
  • Full understanding of safe working practices and relevant legislation where applicable
  • Ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Advanced PC skills (Microsoft office suite)
  • Experience of pneumatics advantageous
  • Good understanding of PLC logic
  • Minimum 5 years experience in relevant job role
  • Use own skills to work with and develop other members of the team.
  • Ability to train others effectively.
  • Identify key personnel and assist in developing their skills and understanding of the equipment so that they can assist with routine maintenance tasks; recognising this creates more time for the engineering team to deliver further improvements.
  • Create and deliver standard work W/Is SOPs SPLs etc. where appropriate.
  • Be willing and able to coach others (Technicians, Ops, Process Ops, and Setters) and develop understanding of others in equipment use and issues.
  • Coach and promote Best Engineering Practices within work group.
  • Use own skills and knowledge to support the department.
  • Designated Representatives (DR) For management of contractors
  • Supporting activities relating to HSE regulations conformity (Legislative Documents)
  • Risk assessment trained.
  • Ability to author technical reports.
  • Actively participate in daily operations meetings
  • Provide hands on Engineering support within the value streams.
  • Complete and maintain GMP documentation in line with Current Good Manufacturing Practice

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Formal Engineering Electrical /Mechanical Qualification.
  • Minimum NVQ level 3. Preferred HNC/ HND BTEC ONC, C&G or equivalent (Multi Skilled)
  • Minimum 5 years experience required in relevant job role.
