Job Title: Site-Based Mechanical QA (Building Services)

About the Role
Clements Young Ltdare recruiting on behalf of a leading mechanical contractor for an experienced Site-Based Mechanical Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract basis in Loughborough. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical installations within a new-build healthcare project. The ideal candidate will have a background in building services, particularly with experience in plumbing, heating, and HVAC installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance Inspections: Conduct thorough on-site inspections of all mechanical installations, including plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Software Utilization: Use Fieldview or similar QA software to document and manage quality assurance activities in real-time.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all mechanical work adheres to relevant safety, quality, and industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and the on-site construction team to address and resolve quality issues effectively.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of QA processes, inspections, and identified issues.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform analyses on any quality discrepancies, and collaborate with team members to implement corrective actions.
- Project Updates: Provide regular updates on quality status and potential issues in site meetings.
- Handover Support: Assist with handover processes, ensuring all systems meet required standards and are ready for operation.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Mechanical QA within the building services sector, particularly with plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems. Prior experience in healthcare construction projects is a significant advantage.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Fieldview or similar QA software for managing quality control on-site.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant mechanical and building codes, standards, and best practices.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision and accuracy in inspections, documentation, and problem-solving.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
