We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Technician with a strong focus on network management to a financial services organisation. Working closely with the managed service provider (MSP) to deliver outstanding IT support and ensure the seamless operation of the IT infrastructure.

The role:

You will be responsible for collaborating with the MSP to manage and maintain VDIs, servers and networks, including troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to keep systems running efficiently and securely.

Duties Include:

  • MSP Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for the MSP, coordinating support requests, troubleshooting efforts, and system updates.
  • Provide IT Support: Offer technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues. Resolve service tickets in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring end-user satisfaction.
  • Network Management: Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including updating and maintaining documentation for all network configurations.
  • VoIP and Telephony Support: Manage and maintain VoIP systems and telephone infrastructure in collaboration with the MSP. Troubleshoot VoIP issues, configure phone systems, and ensure call quality and reliability across the organisation.
  • Troubleshooting: Support and troubleshoot on-site hardware devices, including laptops, PCs, network infrastructure, and AV equipment.
  • End-user Communication: Act as a point of contact for end-users, providing timely updates on the status of their systems, issues, and resolutions. Communicate technical concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of users, assets, configurations, and changes. Create and update technical support guides and procedures.

Experience required:

  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with end-users
  • Proficiency in technical support, including Microsoft Intune and computer networking
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Active Directory, Group Policy, network protocols and cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
  • Familiarity with VoIP platforms and telephony infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of managed service operations and working with MSPs.

This role would be best suited to a senior IT Support Analyst / Engineer, who is East Midlands based and has experience of working closely with 3rd parties / MSP's
