Mechanical Supervisor – Leicestershire  

 

Rate: £370- £400 Per day (Outside IR35)

 

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM (up to 10 hours per day)

• Two Saturdays per month at overtime rate (x1.5)

 

Initial 3 Months contract with possible extension  

 

Our client are a leading provider of innovative automated supply chain solutions, software, and services, specialising in designing, building, and supporting cutting-edge systems for warehouses, distribution centres, and manufacturing facilities. These advanced solutions streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and improve productivity across various industries and now require a Mechanical Supervisor.

 

The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee the installation of mechanical systems, particularly conveyor systems (pallet conveyors, case conveyors, linear sorters, and modular conveyor systems). You will be responsible for managing subcontractors, ensuring they meet project goals, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring the quality of work. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Supervision of Mechanical Installation: Oversee the installation of mechanical systems, including pallet conveyors, case conveyors, linear sorters, and modular conveyor systems (MCS).

• Subcontractor Management: Manage and coordinate subcontractors on-site, ensuring they adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.

• Daily and Weekly Reporting: Attend morning meetings, set clear daily and weekly targets for subcontractors, and submit progress reports to the Mechanical Lead and Site Manager.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the EHS team, Dematic Engineering team, and the Project Management team to ensure alignment with project goals.

• Safety and Risk Management: Familiar with and ensure that all risk assessments, safety observations, and behavioural safety observations are adhered to by the installation team.

• Quality Auditing: Audit the quality of work and ensure it meets the required standards.

• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of installers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.

• Meetings and Communication: Regularly attend team meetings to communicate objectives, project targets, and any issues that may arise.

 

Essential Requirements:

 

• CSCS Black Card (CSCS Supervisor level or above).

• Significant experience in mechanical installations, particularly conveyor systems (pallet, case, and linear sorters).

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage subcontractors effectively.

• Experience in conducting risk assessments and safety observations on-site.

• Ability to audit work quality and ensure adherence to project specifications.

• Strong communication skills for daily reporting and collaborating with various teams.

• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices within construction and mechanical installation.

 

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

 

• Previous experience in a similar role, particularly with modular conveyor systems (MCS).

• Familiarity with Dematic Engineering systems and equipment.

• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and maintain productivity under pressure.
