Macildowie is working with a client based in Loughborough to recruit a Credit Controller. This is a permanent, office-based role with a starting salary of £26,000, with a salary scale up to £28,000.

The Role

As a Credit Controller, you will join an ambitious Head Office accounts team and work directly with the Line Manager and Financial Director. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail whilst delivering first-class service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and chasing rent arrears, a key part of this role.

  • Initiating legal proceedings, working with Solicitors, and completing Claims online on behalf of landlords.

  • Managing and responding to emails.

  • Conducting monthly payment runs to landlords and contractors.

  • Managing bank account operations and reconciliation.

  • Performing deposit reconciliation.

  • Auditing contracts and let sheets.

  • Completing reports as required for landlords and management.

  • Providing branch/landlord support, including regular meetings with the branch.

  • Collaborating closely with all departments across the business to resolve issues.

  • Meeting KPIs set by the Line Manager.

  • Providing general accounts and administration support to the Line Manager and Financial Director.

The Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who possesses:

  • Experience in Credit Control, taking a proactive role in managing and collecting arrears.

  • Strong administration and organisational skills, with a methodical and logical approach to tasks.

  • Proficiency in using various software systems, including Microsoft Packages (Excel, Word) and Google Sheets.

  • Confidence in making calls and managing difficult situations.

  • The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.

  • Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative.

  • The ability to prioritise workload, work to deadlines, and adapt as necessary.

  • Attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy.

  • Flexibility within the working role, as there will be some weekend work during busy periods, especially the summer period.

  • Hours of work: 9 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday.
