As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing critical machinery in a busy recycling facility. Your role will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of compactors, balers, conveyors, and more, with a focus on electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis. You’ll be part of a dedicated engineering team committed to maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and reactive maintenance on recycling equipment, including compactors, balers, forklifts, and conveyors.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults and systems.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain production schedules.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial or recycling environment.
- Strong electrical background (City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Experience with PLCs, inverters, and electrical systems.
- Excellent fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
